View this Videotribute Ronnie Ferrel Farmer age 60 passed away Thursday March 27, 2008 at Norton Community Hospital. He was a life long resident of Dickenson County, a member of the Sumac Grove Primitive Baptist Church, a 1974 Graduate of Clinch Valley College, served in the US Army in Vietnam, former member of the Dickenson County board of Supervisors, was a long standing member of the Republican Party. He was preceded in death by his parents Troy Reed Farmer and Lillie Mae Vanover 2 sisters Mavis Gay Farmer and Connie Farmer, Mother in law Ruby Beavers. He is survived by his wife Elsa Beavers Farmer Clintwood VA, one Daughter Crystal Marie Farmer Norton VA. 3 sisters: Sandra (John) Bergland Berryville VA Barbara (Johnny) Robinette Louisville KY. Brenda (Donald) Mullins of Clintwood VA. 2 brothers: Rodney Farmer of Clintwood VA David Farmer of Clintwood VA 1 Grandchild Emily Madison Smith and his faithful companion Carmalita. Pallbearers will be Rodney Farmer, Greg Baker, John Farmer, Jack Farmer, Larry Vaughan, Donald Mullins, Scott Boyd, Seth Baker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. J.P. Senter, Booker Beavers, Roy Swindall, John Fields, David Owens, David Farmer, Dennis Baker, The wise UVA History Department, Retired UVA wise history department Professors, Larry Kennedy, Richmond Short, Elster Stanley. Family will receive friends Saturday March 29, 2008 at 6:00pm followed with a service at 7:00pm In the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday March 30, 2008 at 11:00am In the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with Elders Danny Smith, Ked Stacey, Joe Edwards, Darrell Davis, George Ben Combs, Victor Church, Elmer Gene Compton, Roger Fuller, officiating. A Military grave side will be conducted by Clintwood’s VFW Post 8979, DAV Chapter 35, American Legion Post 227; in the Farmer family Cemetery located on South Mountain Road Clintwood VA.
