He was a life long resident of Dickenson County except for the past 4 years he spent at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Wise VA. Where he was loved by all. He is preceded in death by his Father William Troy Owens, 2 sisters Betty Darlene Owens, Shirley Irene Owens, 2 brothers Mitchell Dean Owens, Bobby Kenneth Owens. He is survived by his Mother: Hattie Faye Owens Clintwood VA 2 brothers: Dewey Owens of KY, Dennis Owens of Haysi VA. 4 sisters: Brenda Davis of Haysi VA. Joyce Garcia of Michigan Pauline Wampler of Abingdon VA. Gail Mullins of Haysi VA. Several nieces and nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Larry Ball, Terry Hall, Wayne Delaney, David Davis, Mike Hall, Bill Ramey, Matthew Mullins, Kenny Mullins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Buchener, Hunter Holley, Joshua Ball, and David Garcia. Family will receive friends Wednesday May 14, 2008 at 6:00pm followed with a song service at 7:00pm In the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday May 15, 2008 at 11:00am with Lewis Mullins officiating. He will be laid to rest in the A.F Deel Cemetery located on Rakes Ridge.
